Technical Service Engineer
- BASIC FUNCTION:
· Advises and supports customers in processing Saudi Aramco materials, including new projects or new materials, and follow up of product/application complaints.
· Provides high quality, effective technical support to existing commercial accounts under direction from Xiamen Chemical Manager & Polymer Sales manager in Shanghai.
· Supports the Sales team in the technical resolution of customer complaints.
· Supports the Sales team in application support for developing new business.
- SCOPE:
· Position is responsible for the whole of China (wherever product is sold)
· Technical interface with key accounts in assigned applications.
· Regular visits of existing and potential customers in China, including end-users, with 50-60 % travel activities
· Indirectly responsible for accounts up to a total value of $200million.
. PRINCIPAL CONTACTS:
External:
· Customer’s, Technical managers, Sales Managers and Procurement managers
· Technical staff at Customer to interface to and resolve processing issues/product development
· Customer visits 4 to 6 per week
Internal:
· Sales, Customer Service, Product Certification/Manufacturing and Logistics contacts/interaction are is vital for the success of the role
· Daily contact with management is necessary
4. PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
A. Advises and supports in processing Saudi Aramco materials, including new projects or new materials, and follow up of product/application complaints.
B. Provides high quality, effective technical support to existing commercial accounts under own responsibility.
C. Resolves product or application related customer complaints in a timely manner.
D. Working with FREP Engineering and laboratory team on company quality complains
E. Develops strong relationship with customers, and local technical departments at OEM’s, to enhance Saudi Aramco’s ability to conduct high value business with them.
F. Works closely in teams together with Sales
G. Works with OEM's and direct customers to ensure the effective introduction of new products through trial/testing support and benefits promotion. Translate laboratory and business support development projects into meaningful value propositions for customers.
H. Acts as project owner for specific projects. Defines and coordinates support from within Saudi Aramco for these projects.
I. Identifies new market and product trends through customer and end-users, forwards and communicates this information as measurable property characteristics within Saudi Aramco.
J. Collects marketing and competitor information.
K. Provides Technical support to the Sales team in the form of machine trials, complaint resolution, new development support and material information support to the customer.
L. Addresses complaints in a timely & effective manner.
M. Works in close collaboration with the Sales team.
N. Builds close relationships within the technical/manufacturing/quality functions within customer organizations.
5. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A. Technical University degree such as polymer Science or Engineering
B. 5-10 years the quality/production/technical support areas within a plastics processor.
C. Fluent writing and spoken English and Chinese
D. Basic IT capabilities (e-mail, SAP R3, EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT)
E. Demonstrated capability for relationship building at various levels and functions within a customer organization.
F. Pleasant personality and interpersonal skills.
